Petrelintide dosage in published studies and labels

These are the doses used for Petrelintide in FDA labelling and published clinical studies, reported as each source states them, one row per regimen. They describe what was studied or approved for a specific population. They are not a recommendation, and none of them is a dose for any individual.

Research and educational reference only. This is not medical advice, and no figure on this page is a dosing recommendation.

Studied regimens and sources

Petrelintide has no approved dosage. Human dosing comes from Zealand Pharma's trials of once-weekly injections under the skin: in the ZUPREME 1 phase 2 trial, maintenance doses of 1.0 to 9.0 mg lowered body weight by 7.9% to 9.8% after 28 weeks against 1.7% with placebo in adults with obesity. Phase 3 trials are recruiting.

Where sources disagree

  • Petrelintide is an amylin analogue, like cagrilintide, but it is a different molecule with its own trial doses; cagrilintide doses do not transfer to petrelintide.
  • Weight loss in ZUPREME 1 was similar from 5.0 to 9.0 mg. Phase 3 doses are not listed in the registry, and petrelintide is not FDA-approved.
